  (C. Agardh) Montagne ex Harvey

This is a species of seaweed that grows on rocks and boulders from the low intertidal - subtidal zones.  Its range is along the coast of Western North America is reported to be from South British Columbia to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico.  This picture was taken on large boulders at Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay, and show the cyctocarpic stage of the seaweed.
