Diagnosis: Roewer
(1934) characterized the genus as follows:
"Ammotrechinae,deren
2. und 3. Tarsus ventral mit jeweils 1.2.2 Dornen
und deren
4. Tarsus ventral mit 2.2/2/2 Dornen bewehrt ist (Abb. 335, b,
g);
Cheliceren am unbeweglichen Finger mit 2 Vorderzähnen vor dem
Zwischenzahn und am beweglichen Finger ohne einen medialen Wangenzahn
neben dem Hauptzahn (Abb. 337, a)."

whose 2nd and 3rd Tarsus each bear 1.2.2 ventral spines and whose 4th
Tarsus bears 2.2/2/2 ventral spines (Fig. 335, b, g);
Fixed cheliceral finger with 2 anterior teeth in front of the
intermediate tooth, and movable cheliceral finger without a medial cheek
tooth next to the main tooth (Fig. 337, a).]

Ammotrecha solitaria Banks, 1902a, by original designation.
